Here are some of our guest reviews! They give you a great idea on what our past guests have enjoyed, not just about the accommodation, but also the area…
Steve – Sept 22
Staying at Lower Crabb B&B on a last minute booking was everything we hoped for - and more!
We stayed in the Stables - 2 of us and 2 dogs, and it was a tranquil 2 days.
Complete with a small kitchenette, there was no need to leave - we had room for the food , room to cook, and spent 2 days reading and having the odd drink or two... (or three...)
There is a large field for the dogs to run around in, full of new smells and room to charge about!
The bed - if I ever wondered what sleeping on a cloud would be like, this would be it - so comfortable, with a quilt to match.
We brought everything we needed to eat and drink, but the highlight was the delivered gluten free breakfast - just enough, and so tasty, I even ate the tomato!
Next time, we will try the hidden cottage 🙂
A. Kreiner – July 23
I stayed at the Lower Crabb for two nights.
I felt incredibly comfortable. There is something magical about this place. The garden, the room, everything is decorated with attention to detail.
There was always coffee, tea, cookies in the room.
Sally Ann is the perfect hostess. She is very open hearted and always there when I had questions. Also the breakfast was very tasty and much.
Her husband James also has a wonderful way of communicating. I just loved it.
I would definitely stay at Sally Ann's again, thank you.

Hidden Cottage is a gorgeous little bolt hole literally hidden at the bottom of the garden. Sally Ann and James had lit fire for our arrival and had left us some home baked cake and cookies! The beds were super comfortable, and kitchen is well equipped, and the cottage interiors are eclectic, cosy and very homely! We didn’t stay long so we didn’t get to enjoy the beautiful garden and views from the cottage sadly. I highly recommend a stay here if you’re looking for somewhere in the area
John – Oct 23
A delightful location, wonderfully friendly and responsive host, very enjoyable accommodation.
Will very happily return in the future.
Alice – Sept 23
We had a lovely stay at the hidden cottage. It has beautiful views from the field, where we could sit with a glass of wine whilst the kids could run and play in the evening.
The cottage is quirky with lots of interesting bits of decor to look at. Everything was clean and as described, beds very comfy too.
Sally-Ann was good to communicate with and provided everything we needed.
We had good pizza from the pizza van in Mayfield on Friday evening and tasty burgers which we had on the BBQ from the very friendly butchers in the village.
Christina – Sept 23
Calm, beautiful surroundings with an excellent host who was very welcoming and helpful. Lots of colour and joy in the hidden Cottage - a pleasure to stay in.
And great breakfasts can be ordered/ delivered and presented with lovely attention to detail. A perfect stay.
Thank you
Well what can i say, a slice of pure heaven. This place really is magic and as soon as i arrived we felt a sense of
calm and tranquility. The decor is so chic and inspiring and i cannot stress how much pleasure the green(arsenic) paint
brings to my vision. it is as if I am in a Victorian Summer hide away. We will definately be coming back.
